Chapter 11 An Incredible Day With My Daughter 2

  • In the afternoon, after lunch, Mark Harris, my daughter, and I were sitting on the sofa watching TV when suddenly we heard someone ringing the doorbell, and shortly after, Harris's lawyer entered the room where the three of us were, with certain papers in his hands.
  • " Good afternoon " said the lawyer as he entered, approaching Harris as he got up from the sofa to greet him.
  • " Do you have the documents? " Harris asked his lawyer.
  • " Yes, sir, tomorrow morning you and Miss Lopez have the health exams that you requested at the clinic of your trust, in addition to the DNA test that Miss Lopez has, she will see a gynecologist to ensure, Mr. Harris, that you will be able to conceive a child when your future husband decides " the lawyer told me.
  • " I don't understand, Mr. Harris, how are we going to go to the clinic and get married at the same time? " I asked, hearing my future husband laughing out loud.
  • " Sofia, our wedding will take place in the afternoon to avoid the crowd that will be in the courts in the morning if you agree, of course, so you will have time to think if you want to move forward with the contract you have signed or on the contrary you back out " Harris told me.
  • " Now that I know my daughter, don't dream that I am going to regret marrying you, I want to be part of my little one's life and no one will stop me, although the only thing I will miss is my job at the law firm " I replied.
  • " Sofia, remember the contract you signed, you cannot return to the law firm if I do not admit it, and you cannot go anywhere if you do not tell me first, also you have to always go with one of my bodyguards, I do not want any surprises and I do not tolerate being lied to " he told me very seriously.
  • When it was around eight o'clock in the evening, Adela entered the living room announcing that dinner was served on the table, the three of us sat at the table, my daughter giving me her spoon so that I could feed her, feeling butterflies in my stomach, Harris looking at me with a half smile on his full lips.
  • " I think my daughter really likes you, and that makes me very happy " Harris said, making me smile too, and proud as the mother of the little Cynthia that I was.
  • Shortly after the three of us had dinner as if we were already a family, Mark picked up his daughter in his arms, looking at me.
  • " It's time to put the little one to bed, as her mother"to"be, come with me to bathe her, put on her pajamas, and tell her a story in her room when she's already in bed, which is the part she likes the most " Harris told me.
  • " Yes, daddy, I want Sofia to tell me the story tonight " the little one said.
  • After bathing my little one and putting on her pajamas, I picked her up and laid her in her bed. My daughter grabbed both of my hands with her little hands and started jumping on her bed, much to the disapproval of her father. He picked her up and laid her in her bed, covering her with a blanket. I grabbed one of the stories from the shelf to read to my little one, but after twenty minutes, her father and I realized that she had fallen completely asleep. I approached her to give her a gentle kiss on her soft cheek, her father did the same, and we turned off the bedside lamp, leaving the room. Once Mark and I were in the hallway, we stood staring at each other, and I noticed that his body was getting closer to mine. I stepped back, bid him goodnight, and quickly entered my room, closing the door with the latch.
  • In the morning, I woke up to the sound of my phone's alarm. I got out of bed, went into the bathroom to shower, and came out shortly after, my body and hair dried and loose. I got dressed, left the room, and went downstairs smiling as I heard my daughter laughing with her father, her smile being quite contagious.
  • "Good morning," I said as I entered the living room and saw Mark and my little one already dressed and having breakfast.
  • I approached where little Cintia was and, unexpectedly, she hugged me with her little arms and gave me a big kiss on my cheek, making me emotional as I hugged her back and kissed her soft cheek. I sat in the chair next to her, poured myself some coffee, and looked at Harris, noticing how serious he looked.
  • "Is everything okay, Mr. Harris?" I asked, smiling.
  • "Yes, Sofia, well, I have to go do some things in my office for a moment. When I'm done, we'll leave and drop my daughter off at her daycare before going to the clinic. I won't take more than ten minutes. Please, hurry up with your coffee, Sofia," Harris said very seriously before leaving the room.
  • As we were about to leave the house, I noticed the driver waiting for us with the car door open. The driver first stopped at the daycare for the little one, where one of her teachers greeted us at the door.
