Chapter 29 Forced To Give In 2
- The next day when I woke up, I realized that Mark was no longer in bed. I got up, went to the bathroom to freshen up a bit, returned to the bedroom and got dressed, then went downstairs to the kitchen. When I entered, my husband didn't even look at me, pretending that nothing had happened between us the night before. I poured myself a cup of coffee and sat at the kitchen table to have breakfast peacefully, as my daughter Violeta had already been taken to daycare by the driver. Mark didn't speak to me, didn't humiliate me, didn't even ask me anything. At first, I felt bad because the initial argument in our bedroom was absurd, but later in the shower, I felt that there was love between us, so it hurt to be facing my husband with both of us looking serious, him expressionless and ignoring my presence. The following days were very fruitful for me, as one of those days when Mark left for work in his car, I took the opportunity to go to the law firm where Alice works. I left the house, hailed a taxi, gave the driver the address of where I wanted to go. Once the driver stopped the vehicle at the location, I paid and got out of the taxi, looking at the glass building in front of me. I entered, headed towards the elevators, went down to the floor where the law firm was, and approached a lady sitting behind a desk at the entrance.
- "Good morning, I'm Sofia Harris, a friend of Alice," I said.
- "Sofia, how nice to see you at the law firm. Come with me to my office, then I'll tell William that you're here, I'm sure he'll be happy to see you again," Alice said.
