Chapter 80
- Megan's POV
- As the time for his return home drew near, I found that my anxiety levels reached an all-time high. Even though I didn't hear or feel anything last night, I was still able to tell that he was in pain. Even then, I had my doubts about whether or not he would be able to make it back.
- In spite of the fact that I wasn't supposed to, I kept looking around the outside of the glass for any sign that he was there. As the chill traveled throughout my body, I saw that my hands had started to sweat and quiver. As the seconds ticked by, my heart rate accelerated, and I found myself taking increasingly shallow breaths. I could no longer handle the wait, and the misery and frustration that I felt caused me to want to cry. During my hunt for comfort, I gripped my towel even more firmly than before.
