Chapter 12

  • Megan's POV
  • He took me down a road I had never traveled before. I took care to keep a safe distance of two steps between us in case he tried anything. I could see the pack house's glistening lights out to my left in the distance. Until we reached a patched road that took us straight east, he continued to bring us northeast. I would sometimes catch him looking my way out of the corner of my eye. We were strolling in an uncomfortable yet relaxing stillness. Snowy owls and little creatures scurrying could be heard. The rapids continued to thrash around and could be heard roaring in the distance.
  • I could see the home when the narrow, patched road began to grow into a driveway. It was much too big for just one individual to live alone. More individuals were inside since some light from the rooms' windows could be seen.
