Chapter 6

  • Megan's POV
  • When I heard the purr of a vehicle coming from a distance of a few kilometers, I realized I had to begin traveling back. By listening to the sounds the automobile was making, you could almost hear how pricey it was. He was the fabled Alpha that everyone was talking about, so I knew it had to be him. No one would need to return to this location since there was nothing around for miles. I would know since I've been foraging and attempting to remember the area for the last week.
  • I turned my head to the west, where the automobile was approaching from. The distant Talk Mountains almost seemed to be tempting me to sprint over to them. I just had to move quickly. I could get away from the Alpha's rule and the pack. There was nobody around or in the area to stop me. I could be free if I only took greater care to avoid being caught the next time.
  • Not me. I could have, but I didn't. I turned around and went back the other way, east. Running would have been disrespectful to the Alpha and the pack if I had done so. If they so desired, they would go looking for me and murder me. Additionally, the beta likely had informed the Alpha that I was present.
  • Just as a sleek, matte-black automobile came into the driveway, I arrived at the pack home. I put on the maroon t-shirt Blaire gave me and my tattered black pants. I threw on my leather jacket and removed my clothing, finishing the look with my leather ankle boots. I felt unworthy to be able to wear such elegant attire.
  • I intended to stay away from the Alpha for as long as I could. In such cases, avoid pretty much everyone. The moment I stepped outside the front door, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of people. I've never liked crowds; if I consider myself, I've never liked gatherings of more than three individuals. Most of them were hugging and welcoming each other as the automobile was around them. Due to the crowd, I was unable to view the Alpha. I wanted to know the man's appearance so that I could avoid him. While the females were ogling him and chatting with one another, the guys were virtually salivating over his automobile.
  • That must be the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, right? Of course, with all of his wealth, he would drive a fancy automobile.
  • I have no idea about his automobile, but I would like to ride on him. The blonde I had just spoken to in the kitchen muttered to her group of pals. They all groan incessantly and shamelessly at his eyes. I disregarded their obscene remarks and went outside to the garden. There were at least 100 tables arranged in various locations across the yard.
  • The seats were being perfectly straightened by hundreds of individuals as they conversed. Children were giggling gleefully while rushing between the tables and trees. I strolled around the chaos with my back to the earth and rested my chin on the broad trunk of an ancient tree.
  • While I waited for him to approach me, I tried to keep myself hidden as much as I could under the shade of the tree.
  • We were essentially playing a game of hide and seek. He was the one, and I was going to win.
  • Jason's POV
  • I couldn't wait to get up and stretch my tired legs. My wolf, who was whining since I hadn't let him run in a while, was causing me a headache. My ass is hurting.
  • Be quiet. In my brain, my wolf gave me a response. I rolled my eyes as I exited my vehicle. My pack companions surrounded me right away. The first to hug me were my parents. I received a strong slap on the back from my father, the former alpha, as he shook my hand. My mother, the Luna, hugged me tenderly. Again, I had come up empty-handed and had not seen any indication of a partner. My mother was still the Luna of my pack because of this. For the last three years, I have been leaving my area in quest of my partner. Mates were expected to cross paths shortly after their first shift and, maybe and very seldom, a year later. I'm twenty-one now. Five years have passed since my last shift. By now I ought to have located her. One by one, my pack mates welcomed me. They were also anticipating the return of their brand-new Luna. They once again gave me a feast to welcome me back. I didn't feel like going out or making friends. To be quite honest, I'm envious of all the couples and mated wolves that I would have to witness.
  • My parents offered me a pitiful grin when they saw my little attitude shift. Although I was beginning to lose faith in meeting my partner, they both understood how much I desired her. If I don't locate her by the time I'm twenty-two, I must mate with the other female in my pack with the highest rank except my sister. About that, I heard her a few feet away from me.
  • I have no idea about his automobile, but I would like to ride on him. I shuddered in contempt. To my surprise, Lucy was the dominant female fighter. With all due respect, I was astonished to find that she was able to get the high-ranking post. More than her training, I've seen her take care of her beauty and cosmetics, but who am I to criticize? She displayed her body more than I would have liked, but at least she is happy with who she is. No matter what she does or how she seems, if she can fight, then she can fight. But it was her attitude that irritated me. She would slam them whenever she had the opportunity. No matter their position or age, Lucy diverted everyone's attention, and that will always irritate me.
  • I obeyed and followed everyone into the pack house's backyard since I didn't want to offend anybody. I fiercely grinned at my pack as I swiftly surveyed my Beta. They are laughing and smiling affectionately towards one another as he has his arms around his partner's waist.
  • "Where is the woman rouge that you told me about?" I looked around and questioned, but all I could see were familiar faces. He began to scan the area as well, his confused brows furrowed together.
  • "I'm not certain. She often keeps to herself. I don't often see her. I gave him a thank-you pat on the shoulder while nodding.
  • Occasionally, errant members would approach me and start chatting about unrelated topics. From the oldest to the youngest member, I was familiar with everyone's names. I took a stroll, ate some food, and said "thank you" to everyone I could. I finally found my way back to Blaire and Jackson. With a few of the warriors, they were discussing perimeter patrols. They were worried that some rogues would start assaulting soon since the number of them had become too great. Although I like to keep my pack on the more tranquil side, we were taught to prevail in battle. A delicious fragrance caught my attention just as I was going to say anything. I took another breath of it, this time deeper. My wolf was going nuts, and I became a bit disoriented. It had been at least an hour since the aroma had been fresh. I began to follow it after making an excuse. Lucy appeared out of nowhere just as it began to intensify. I grew angry as my inner wolf snarled. I moaned.
  • The question "What do you want, Lucy?" I made a courteous as possible request.
  • I was wondering," she said as she began running her fingers over my chest and attempting to undo my shirt's buttons. I gently grasped her wrist and yanked them apart.
  • Saying "No, Lucy." She pouted and resembled a fish. I stepped away from her as she was going to speak, attempting to retrace the fragrance. The trail was always covered with Lucy's smell as she passed in front of me each time I picked it up. I was becoming irate and impatient. My wolf seemed to be ready to transform as it drew nearer to the brink. Although it was a beautiful party, I wasn't really into it. To restrain my wolf before he became out of control, I went into the woods. From where was it coming from?
