Chapter 75
- Megan's POV
- At this point, I wasn't really certain how I might be of use to him. Never before had I seen him being so unhappy over something that had nothing to do with me and which I was unable to alter. I chilled because of the contrast between the chilly air and his tears, but the warmth of his breath kept me from feeling too unhappy about the situation.
- We remained standing there for a significant amount of time, providing emotional support to my boyfriend as he grieved furiously over his betrayal. It didn't matter to me that my stomach was starting to grumble or that the bottoms of my feet were starting to throb with discomfort. Because he needed my presence more than I required those other things, I stayed there for him. I stayed there, rubbing his back and assuring him that everything would be well until his cries finally stopped. Despite this, I remained to hold him until he released my grip and wiped the tears from his swollen eyes. He looked at me with puffy eyes and a blotchy red face, and then he smiled at me in a way that was both feeble and mournful. I quietly interrogated him by raising an eyebrow at him and looking at him with a questioning expression.
