- Paul settled beside me on the couch, draping his arm over me while resting his leg on his left knee. ‘Do you think they regret scaring you?” he mused, a notable smile gracing his face. The air of arrogance he exuded was stifling.
- “Regret is probably the mildest word that comes to mind,” I replied, attempting to downplay my concern for Paul's excessive jubilation. He took his phone out and dialled a number.
- “It would be in your best interest to put Kisqui under lockdown,” he asserted. After a quick exchange, he hung up, seemingly uninterested in the other person's response. He then called my uncle. "Bricks, advise your brother to initiate a lockdown in Bronze Creek, and I recommend you do the same for Port Vila.”
