Chapter 27 Boredom
- Being in Kisqui only offered one element of pleasure, and it was that Paul was constantly busy. Ever since the luncheon after the funeral I hardly saw him. Days would go by without a trace of Paul.
- With the open knowledge that Paul had of me leaving breadcrumbs for Gregory, I was walking on eggs shells. My utter disbelief that Paul was in my parent's house reminded me that he was not someone to be toyed with.
- He had been meeting my Uncle Fredrick to discuss business but did not bring me along. My hopes largely relied on my uncle negotiating for my freedom. Paul was unpredictable, even if he allowed me to go back, would I truly be free?
