• We had been back in Kisqui for a full week before I decided to start going out again. Paul took me for a drive to see the hotel project he had been working on. The progress was impressive.
• Hand in hand, we slowly walked around the construction site, led by the contractor, who was ever so eager to explain things I didn't particularly care to know. The structures, framed with exposed steel girders and concrete, bearing the signature of a work in progress.
• Mr Douglas, who came bearing updates on the hotel construction's progress, possessed a special talent to ignite a sense of fatigue in me. He presented the status reports, charts, and spreadsheets with an air of precision, delving into every minute detail of the construction.
