Chapter 18 Supportive
- When I woke up in a cold sweat, I must have woken Paul, for he cuddled me and asked if I was fine. I just kept quiet, even though my heart was pounding in fear. Paul’s strong arms gave me a sense of security, even though I didn’t want him to be the person to comfort me.
- I accepted it anyway. He kissed my head and further covered me with a sheet. “It was only a dream,” his voice soothing me as I held on to him for dear life, convincing myself I believed his words.
- The gentle way he rubbed my back soon put me back to sleep again, and in the morning when I woke up, he was still there. Paul was not one to stay around after he had got what he wanted. I didn’t know how I felt about waking up in his arms.
