Chapter 57 Chaos Erupts

• In the evening Sam and I sat in the family room watching TV. I always wondered how such a sweet-tempered person like Sam got caught up in Paul’s world. “So, how did you and Paul meet?” I asked during a commercial break. “Our mothers are cousins,” he curtly replied. My jaw dropped, “You're family?” My question came out more as a shout.
• Sam nodded. I couldn’t keep my eyes away from Sam after what he said. From the way he answered me, I knew he was not in the mood to talk. Sam’s loyalty to Paul was blood-related, probably why there was no way that Sam would betray Paul.
• It made sense why Paul charged Sam with me. If ever the opportunity arose for a deal to be presented for my release, Sam would be the last person to betray Paul.
