Chapter 90

  • Council’s Judgement
  • Mandy’s POV
  • I keep my head down and don’t dare to look over at Matteo. Who is seething mad right now. He doesn’t want me any where near the council and I can’t say that I blame him. Igor pats the cushion next to him while he calls out to me. “Mandy my dear if you wouldn’t mind to please come and take your seat, so we may ask you a few questions. My head pops up and I immediately look to Matteo before I move a muscle. Once we lock eyes together, he gives me a nod relaying to me that it was ok to do as the councilman asks. I pad over to the couch and sit down. Igor starts in on his integration. “So, Mandy please tell us what happened the day of the attack. “I was about to go into my bedroom when I saw the door barely open. I then heard some noises coming from inside of the room, so I ran downstairs and got the closest guard that I knew would be there. We came back up stairs and was joined by some of Matteo’s other men. I was then hauled off to our safe room, and they brought Sarah in there with me. Once we were inside there are cameras so we could see everything going on. For some reason the men were focused on Matteo’s office. I’m not sure why or what for we couldn’t see what was going on inside his study because there is no camera. I saw a group of men carrying some heavy-duty equipment. I called my husband and informed him, and he told me of a back way out of the safe room. From there I was instructed to go meet some of Matteo’s allies and stay there until my husband came and got me.”
