Chapter 4
- My Two Options
- Mandy’s POV
- I gasped at Matteo’s statement about marrying me. I sit there quietly thinking to myself. ‘Does this idiot really expect me to actually agree to this wedding?’ Unsure on how to go about rejecting his proposal, or better yet demand. I calmly clear my throat and try to keep my voice strong while I tell him. “I’m sorry but there is no way that will happen. I am only eighteen and don’t think my father would like it to much if he was to find out that I was getting married.” I hoped my politeness would compensate for me turning him down. Matteo starts laughing at me again, which really pisses me off. I began to slowly rise up from my knees, when I am kicked in the back of my knee cap making me fall right back down again.
- “Why the hell did you just kick me? I must say for a man wanting me as his wife you are going about this all the wrong way. Don’t ever lay another finger on me. Now I would like to go home, it’s been a very long and weird night.” I’m shaking by the time I spit all of this out at him. It seems that Matteo is unable to do anything but laugh at me. I yell out at him. “Fuck you.” I leap onto my feet and head straight to the elevator. I push the button to call the elevator, finally Matteo and his annoying laughter shuts up. ‘Stupid mother fucker I hope he chokes on his own spit and dies a painful death. Why the heck didn’t Sarah tell me who her boyfriend was?’
- Lost deep in my own thoughts, I didn’t hear Matteo sneak up behind me until it was to late. Suddenly a hand wraps around my hair and pulls me backwards. The unexpected move takes me by surprise, and makes me loose my footing. I land hard onto the floor with the side of my body. “Get up now. I tried to be patient with you, and give you a chance to some to terms with what is about to happen. I told you who I was trying to let you know how serious this conversation is, but you have obvious decided not to listen. So, talking doesn’t seem to be your strong suit, so action must be how you learn. Everything that I discussed with you tonight isn’t up for debate. I was simply letting you know exactly how things were going to be. I’m not asking you to marry me, I am telling you that you have no other choice.” Matteo screams out at me.
- He grips my upper arm and starts dragging me to the back of his luxury penthouse. We don’t stop until we enter a huge bedroom. There is a king size four poster bed in the middle of the floor, along with a dresser, mirror, two-night stands, and a chest of drawers. The color of the walls is a gray color. He throws me onto the bed and I bounce once before coming to a stop. Before I could even try to get away, he is on me. He pulls my arms straight up and out. I’m struggling to get out of his hold, but it’s no avail. All of a sudden, I feel cold steel wrap around my wrist of my right arm. As I look up to see what is going on the same feeling is around my left arm now to. I go completely still when I notice that it is hand cuffs.
- Not wasting any time, he starts moving down my body and does the same to my legs. I’m spread eagle and at his mercy. I start to panic; I glance up and make eye contact with him. With a shaky voice I start speaking. “What…what are you going to do to me now?” Matteo starts smiling like this is all just a game. “I could do anything to you right now and you would be powerless to stop me. My next moves depend on what comes out of your mouth next. I don’t believe that you truly now the extent of my reach or the power that I hold. I don’t want to have to force you at gun point down the aisle, so I’m going to give you two choices. The first one is you willing accept my proposal and us get married in a week, and everyone you love stays happy and safe. The second is that I go and kill your dad, and probably Sarah and forcefully make you walk down the aisle. Either way you are going to marry me, the only question is do you want to make sure no harm comes to the ones who are closest to you? Now what is your choice?”
- I don’t know exactly who Matteo is, because I haven’t got a clue about the power of the mafia. If it’s anything like the movies then it’s serious business. I don’t want anyone to die because of me. I squeeze my eyes shut not wanting to see his smug face when I answer. “I’ll marry you.”
- “Good girl, I knew you would see it my way.” He starts to uncuff my hands and then my feet. As soon as I am free, I slide away from him. Wanting to put as much distance between the two of us as possible. He has a stone-cold look on his face when he spits out at me. “You are now my fiancé so you better start acting like it. Now here is what is going to happen in the next week. Tomorrow we will go shopping and buy you the proper attire. Then we will go have dinner with my parents at their house so I can introduce you. After that you will spend this entire up coming week making wedding plans with my mother. I better not hear that you misbehave in any type of way. I will send movers to go and get all of your belongings from your house, and move them here. Now we have a long day ahead of us so it’s time we go to bed.”
- Matteo stands up and strips all the way down to his boxers before climbing under the covers. I’m still standing there shocked, not really wanting to sleep next to this tyrant. I turn and go towards what I am guessing is the bathroom. I make it about three steps before his voice makes me come to a halt. “Where the fuck do you think you are going? I said it was time for bed now get your ass on this mattress. If you don’t then I will assume that you want me fuck you.” I don’t respond I only waltz back to the bed and climb in.
