Chapter 21
- The Contract
- Mandy’s POV
- I followed Matteo outside the bakery and we said our goodbye’s to his mother, Emma, Sarah, and Carlo. We climbed into the back of the waiting Land Rover, and sped off into city traffic. As we were stopped at a red light, I calmed my nerves, and thought this was as good as time as any to talk to him. “Matteo, can we please discuss something?” He glares at me, but nods his head, so I continue. “Well, I was hoping that we could make a deal about my father and put in a binding contract. I propose that instead of moving my dad that we keep him here, and I can visit him once a month. I’m willing to sign my life away to you. An agreement stating that I will obey you 100%, and also produce an heir within one year. If I was to default on my part then you could kill my pops. I know that you can force me to do these things already, but wouldn’t it be nice to know that I wouldn’t never fight you. You wouldn’t have to worry about what me, because you will have my dad’s life in the palm of your hands. Apparently, you and I will be spending the rest of our lives together, don’t you want to at least try to get along. I promise I will make you happy, be at your beckoning call. Just give me this one little thing, and I’ll never ask you for nothing as long as we are married. I can’t lose him, I don’t think I could survive knowing it was me who but him on his death bed, made him loose everything that he has worked for since I have been a child. I’ll get on my hands and knees and beg if that is what you want me to do. This could be a wedding gift to me from you. Please, please, please don’t hurt him anymore.”
