Chapter 31

• We were two adults locked in a room just because one of us had the idea. Max was staring at me intently, as if trying to read my thoughts. Ha, I wish he could do it so we could end all of this once and for all. I knew perfectly well that this attempt at a relationship would change forever if I told him the truth. I think I used to know who he was, what he was about, but it all depended on whether he confirmed it for me or not.
• "Are you just going to stand there without giving me any explanations?!" he shouted at me, furious.
• "Lower your damn tone, Max!" I shouted back even louder, opening one of his drawers to find one of his black shirts that reached my knees. "I'll tell you the truth when you're damn well calm!"
