Chapter 157
- Arriving at my room and throwing myself on the bed was exactly what I needed. I knew that my real room was in the basement, but before leaving the house after the costume party that Elizabeth had organized in my honor to cheer me up after breaking up with Ashton, I had requested that the guest room be modified to make a room for me.
- It was just a few doors down from my parents' room. I was close to them. And I had a view of the garden. I could see more clouds from the window, the wilting flowers of autumn, and the leaves falling from the almost bare trees. Finally, the sunlight hit my face and I didn't have to climb onto furniture for it to happen like in the basement.
- I could hear the birds singing and be someone normal with a normal room. There, I could be myself.
