Chapter 8

• When Christian received the bank notification he immediately got suspicious. He knew Victoria wouldn't just transfer such amount of money out of the blue, unless it had something to do with her mother or estranged family. He called her several times but there was no answer, until her phone was switched off.
• He called Colin to trace Victoria's phone, but when the results came he knew something was off, he called the police and told them about his suspicions, even though it hadn't been 24 hours since she had gone missing they couldn't defy the great Mr Chadwick.
• Christian immediately told Colin to arrange bodyguard and went straight to the hospital without waiting for the police . On the way he was sweating bullets, he was driving like a maniac which led Colin fear for his life, even the body guards driving behind him wondered if he will arrive the hospital alive .
• Fortunately they arrived at the same time with the police but it still didn't matter because Christian barged in like an arrow. He didn't ask questions he fought the two burly men like a mad man until they were both beaten to a pulp. He was trained at the military base when he was young but even he didn't know where got such adrenaline from. When he was certain the men were down he ran to Victoria and held her tight. He didn't want to let go, he had never cried in his life but today his eyes were full of tears.
• He didn't even realise that Victoria had fainted, she had no strength but she was just holding on until she was saved, she didn't even know where she got the strength from. The police and bodyguard couldn't believe their eyes. They thugs were handcuffed and taken to the police station.
• When Victoria came to she was on a hospital bed, but she still went hysterical when sje thought her children may be in danger, she told Christian about Beth. Unfortunately she was not where to be found with the children.
• "Now they were back to square one, Mara and Beth had the children. Christian called her and she had new demands for the couple, since she couldn't get rid of Victoria, she wanted Christian to leave Victoria. " I know you don't love Victoria, you are only with her because of the twins, she tricked you into marrying her, didn't she?" she asked.
• "Just come back to me, I know you love me, why would ask me to marry you if you didn't have feelings for me? It's all that witch Victoria's fault, why did she even come back, what if these rascals aren't even yours"
• When Victoria had what Mara said she immediately agreed to whatever she was saying, she would rather loose her husband, definitely not her children, through sobs she begged Christian to do whatever Mara demanded. She didn't even care if she lost her life, if Mara wanted her dead she would willingly give her life for her children, she thought " at least now they have their father and great grand parents who love them. She was content leaving this world knowing that her children were safe.
• She was ready to give it all up. Christian felt helpless, he didn't know how to console her, he didn't want to get a divorce, not when he had just found her. But Victoria was determined to do whatever Mara wanted, she discharged herself from the hospital and went straight to the city hall to get a divorce.
• Although Christian was reluctant to sign the paper he decided to do whatever she wanted before she went crazy, they signed the paperwork and were handed their divorce certificate. Christian took a picture of the certificate and sent it to Mara as proof that they had given in to her demands. Mara couldn't control her tears, she had never been so happy, these were tears of joy.
• She knew Christian wasn't someone to be trifled with, " If he didn't love me he wouldn't get a divorce, he really does love me. I'm going to teach Victoria a lesson for trying to trap my man with kids" she thought.
• Mara knew Christian was the most ruthless man in the country and if he wanted to wipe her off of the face of the earth he would , without even lifting his finger. So for him to agree to her demands so quickly meant he was indeed head over heels in love with her. She decided to make Christian take a paternity test with the twins as soon as they get married, if they were his children she was going to keep them and never let Victoria see them .
• But their lives were going to be horrible, she was going to take out her hatred on them. And her delusion made her think Christian would let her do whatever she wanted with the children. The second thing she was going to do was take old Mr Chadwick to the hospice and old Mrs Chadwick to the old age home. She had everything figured out.
• On the list of her ridiculous demands was for Victoria to leave the country and go back to wherever she came from as soon as possible. She told them that as soon as Victoria gets on a plane she will come home to the Chadwick residence with the kids.
• Victoria didn't waste time booking a flight , she even called Byron to pick her up at the airport when she arrives. Christian was at a loss for words, he even thought Victoria had been planning her escape since he found her.
• He got so angry thinking Victoria wanted to leave him even without trying to fight for their marriage. She seemed ready to leave it all behind, even her own kids. What Christian didn't know was Victoria loved her children more than she loved herself and would anything for their safety. She was torn apart to be leaving them behind , and to be leaving Christian as soon as they found each other, but to her there was no debate, she was getting on that flight...
