Chapter 69 Grow
- The bell chimes above my head as I’m practically yanked into the store Shane thought I had to see. I fought and failed to fight the smile that instantly came to my lips when I thought of him. Whatever it is that had him so excited, he didn’t think I needed an explanation before transporting me from the sidewalk. Inhaling deeply, my eyes widened as they lowered from the bell, as I smell a familiar scent I’d recognize anywhere.
- My eyes rolled into the back of my head as I stop in my tracks. Shane stops, and when I open my eyes, they lock on something at the end of the room. I lift my chin, and my gaze travels up, up, up the tall bookshelf. Grazing over the beautiful real wood shelving, natural aesthetics, plants, and rows of books. A bookstore. Shane dragged me into a bookstore.
- The confusion must be clear on my face because I’m met with a dazzling smile spread wide across his face. His eyes are lit up in a way I’ve only seen once, the night I bit him and tied his soul to my own. He takes a step toward me, and I crane my neck to look into his eyes. Shane leans down, and I close my eyes. When he doesn’t kiss me, my eyes fly open as he boops me on the nose. Booped. Like a cute little animal. He doesn’t say anything as he turns from me and pulls me after him. This time I don’t stare around us, just at him. I appreciate the muscles in his back, the largeness of his biceps, and the firmness of his ass.
