Chapter 51 Gross

  • The grounds were empty when we finally left, Gabe’s 1970 Dodge Challenger sped out of the driveway. I stared into the mirror and watched as the packhouse grew smaller and smaller. I’d wondered if we would bump into Alpha Joshua before he left but was happy when Gabe said they’d already left. It was scorching outside but with the windows down and the speed in which my bestie drove, the wind was cool against my face. My hair flew around wildly. This was everything I thought it would be.
  • “Why aren’t you sitting back here with me?” Shane grumbled. I ignored him. I didn’t sit in the back with him on purpose. With how long this drive would take, I knew he wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off of me. The last thing I wanted was to have a spicy moment in the back seat while my best friend drove.
  • My book slid on the seat between us and I grabbed it before it could fall. Gabe had brought my favorite book about this reverse harem of were-bears. He gave me the ‘don’t even think about it’ look before he returned his gaze to the road. I knew that look, he was telling me that despite him bringing the book, I was not to read it. I huffed and folded my arms in front of my chest. It’s not like I could read it anyways, not with Shane’s presence behind me. I couldn’t have him reading over my shoulder and teasing me again. Lowering my hands, I reached forward and yanked on the handle of the dashboard. It’s where Gabe kept all of the goodies. It fell open and I snagged out one of the bags of gummy bears.
