Chapter 30 Jerk
- The shuffling of feet, the door opened and closed. I thought I had been alone, but it turns out I hadn’t been. Now, I was utterly and truly alone with Shane. I flipped the page and pretended like his gaze. didn’t have every single one of the hairs on my body standing. The words were a blur as I pretended to continue reading. I moved my eyes along the black lettering to convince him that I wasn’t phased by his presence. It was a lie of course, I was phased, my heart was thumping around in my chest and my throat was dry. The urge to lick my lips was strong, but I didn’t want to tempt the beast in front of me, or did I?
- “I promise you aren’t,” I answered.
