Chapter 68

• We enter what is a large conference room with a wide desk and chairs around it. At the head of the table is Ian, surrounded by some of my colleagues, three to be exact, and standing next to him is his father, Joziah Pierce.
• "Sir, Ikard. Permission," Carolina calls as she enters, stealing the attention of everyone present. "Allow me to introduce the new intern, Zoà Herrera."
• Ian's intense gaze doesn't go unnoticed by me, but it's his father's attention towards me that I don't like. My colleagues turn their heads as if to say, "Ah, it's her."
