Chapter 109

• Ian had stayed in the bedroom with me all day. In the morning, after he had vented, he climbed onto the bed, lay down beside me, and nestled close to my belly, starting to talk to our baby. He was so focused on his task that he didn't see my mother enter; upon seeing us, she quickly left, closing the door behind her.
• Both of us fell asleep. He, because he hasn't had a good night's sleep in these past few days, and me, because of the medication.
• We woke up again in the late morning. Ian carries me in his arms to the dining room, and everyone gets excited upon seeing me.
