• I spent my brief stay as best as I could, while I didn't think about Ian and everything that had happened, I had a good time. It was only a matter of being alone for a moment for the thoughts to surface and bring forth the most painful and negative feelings.
• The evening before returning, I asked my mother not to bother Ian with anything related to me. She had doubts about my request, but I explained that I didn't want to be a burden to that family or establish a foundation that could be misinterpreted as taking too many liberties. She agreed and asked me to keep in touch, to which I agreed.
• Back in Guadalajara, my soul was restless, my stomach was in knots, and undoubtedly, my nerves were on edge. I had changed my phone's SIM card for a new one, and I only gave my contact information to my bosses, Mr. and Mrs. Vitale, my mother, and my aunt. I wasn't interested in anyone else. Not even Pablo, who never responded to my messages again.
