Chapter 38
- I walk out with my backpack on my shoulder towards what I believe is the exit. I walk down the long hallway until I reach some stairs. I descend them and arrive at what seems to be a lower floor, amazed by the astonishing house, yet my heart remains shattered.
- Tears run down my face and it hurts to have to leave, but I don't know if I should or shouldn't. I walk slowly, not knowing where to go, I have no cash, and I'm only wearing sandals, but that's the least of my concerns.
- I don't know what I'm doing, or rather, I do know, but it breaks my soul. He told me "I love you," he really did. Maybe he only said it because I was leaving. What if it's not the case? If he truly feels something for me, something real, something true, and I leave, we'll lose this opportunity to discover together what it means to love someone.
