Chapter 83
- Kaemon sat on the sofa, staring into his drink, the ice slowly melting as he swirled it around. The room was dimly lit, a small, quiet space where words could be spoken without the fear of being overheard. It had taken him a few drinks and a lot of silence to get the courage to speak. Hael, sitting in front of him, had surprised Kaemon by being uncharacteristically patient, not pushing or prodding. Just waiting.
- After finally finishing the story of what he has done, the confrontation with Sienna, Kaemon let out a long sigh and spoke, his voice low and uneven. “I think I messed up, Hael. Big time.”
- Hael tilted his head, his expression calm but curious. “Sounds like you did.”
