Chapter 2

  • Kaemon was the one who changed the release date of the merchandises of the client without informing Siena. He was also the one who was quick to accuse her for not reviewing their internal calendar for release date adjustments in the meeting she had just left. Sienna would have accepted the blames, but she had checked the calendar multiple times only to have the release date change an hour before the products were scheduled to be released. It was all due to a scheduling clash with a merch launch that had been moved up at the last minute, knocking Jenna's merch out of the running. This was Kaemon’s blunder, and yet Sienna was the one who had to console Jenna Collins and take all the heat.
  • “How is Jenna handling it?” Della inquired; her voice tinged with concern. Both Sienna and Della had to work with Jenna, so how Jenna was taking the situation would result how their futures days will be spent.
  • They had both spent days coming up with improved ideas for promotion and plans to reduce the cost of the goods. They even prepared three separate batches of merchandise to be released over the course of three years. Della was well aware of Jenna's temper, which meant she already knew the answer to her question.
  • Sienna sipped the water from the glass on her table, as she gave Della a sour look. “What do you expect? She asked me in her most recent email, one of at least twenty since last week, how can I work for such an unethical firm, and how others can trust a sales executive like me and the company and bla bla.”
  • “To be honest, you didn't trust this company when you started as a contract worker. But things changed when you became a permanent employee, and Kaemon advised you as the assistant manager of sales.”
  • Sienna glared at the memory of how got the job, refusing to recognise him for the one positive thing he did. “Money, he cheated me out of my commissions for the clients I referred,” she grumbled. “I have a good income, but I could have made a lot more in commission if he hadn't ripped me over on the client contracts I brought in for Lowe. And besides, I had become the assistant sales executive after working my ass off for three whole years!”
  • “Yes, he did low-ball you,” Della admitted, knowing exactly what percentage of commission Sienna got and how much lower it was than several of their other sales employees.
  • “But, honey, that's business.” Della shook her head.
  • “Yes, it's business, but I can and will be bitter about it. Yes, and I'm still going to hit him in the face for it.”
  • Della cackled once more before sitting up straight and leaning in Sienna’s direction. “Ooh, aren't you completely free next week?” As Sienna nodded, her face brightened up.
  • “Are you planning on having this fight once he returns then? Kaemon, as far as I know, will be returning from the sub office soon and will be in office by next week. If so, do you think you will be able to film it? Because I won't be coming to office, I have a weeding to attend, and I don’t want to miss the show.”
  • Sienna snorted out a laugh. “I will if you buy me beer and not the cheap one.”
  • “I would buy you a crisp glass of Dom Pérignon in a heartbeat, price doesn't matter.” Della enthusiastically declared.
  • “I think I will wait for you to return before I throw hands with him. I will save myself the effort and you the money.”
  • “I promise to buy you some expensive ass beer if you land a punch on him though. And I can even arrange for some boxing gloves.” Della winked.
  • Being in the sales, and now the position of an assistant manager, Sienna’s job offered her the opportunity to travel around a lot. And it also allowed Kaemon to travel around meeting clients. Meaning he was less in the office, and Sienna had to see his face and deal with him even less. To tell the truth, if Sienna had to work with and see him every single working day, she doesn’t think she would have been able to survive for so long. Even though Sienna joined Lowe about five years ago, she still lives quite a bit far away from the office. But Sienna too is rarely at the office as she has to run around the city and state for meetings with clients most of the times. The commute for her is long and a lot frequent, but it works well for her as she doesn’t enjoy sitting around in one place. And running around the city keeps Sienna sane. Even so, Sienna is certain when she sees Kaemon again, she will go feral!
