• Back in the pack house, Alice had carefully laid baby Orion in the small bed near her own baby girl. With a tender smile, she tucked the blankets around them and slowly rose from the bed.
• "I'll be back, sweethearts" she whispered, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on each of their foreheads. With a sigh, she made her way towards the door.
• As Alice closed the door behind her, Sophia, the Beta had been observing from a hidden corner. She had been standing there for some minutes now, her gaze fixed on baby Orion. There was an irrational fear brewing within her, making her see the child as a threat for no reason at all as she sneaked in, now standing beside the babies.
