Chapter 135

  • Alpha Alex looked around the pack house, his heart hammering against his ribcage. The house was silent, save for the occasional creak of old wood and the distant howling of their kind under the moon's silent watch. It was late, and the others were either out patrolling the territory or nestled in the comfort of their own beds, lost in dreams only the nocturnal quiet could inspire.
  • When he was sure no one was coming, Alex's grip tightened around Azalea's wrist, his other hand firmly over her mouth to stifle any noise. She struggled against his hold, her muffled protests a soundtrack to his hurried steps as he pulled her along. He knew what he was about to do was reckless, forbidden even, but the fire that raged within him, stoked by an insatiable yearning, left no room for reason or caution.
  • Finally reaching his room, Alex released Azalea, his breaths coming in sharp gasps. He intentionally didn't lock the door, a small voice in the back of his mind. But that voice was quickly drowned out by the roaring of his emotions.
