Just as Alpha Dimitri discharged the pack, they all walked back to their destination.
On the other hand, Sophia, the beta, cornered Jake near the edge of the clearing. Her eyes burned with anger as she confronted him, her voice sharp and commanding. "How dare you point fingers at me in the presence of the whole pack? Accusing me of something I didn't do?" Her words cut through the silence but lucky that she wasn't seen.
Jake shifted nervously, his gaze flickering away for a moment before meeting Sophia's intense stare. "I-I didn't mean to accuse you, Sophia. It's just... I thought you did something to her, and I got carried away. Besides, I saw how you gripped her that day and when her water broke and she asked for your help, you ignored but pretended to help the moment you saw other pack members approaching. So I really thought you had something to do with it." His voice wavered, betraying his uncertainty.
