Chapter 43
- “Hey, it seems like you will be getting your wolf today.” The voice had been so clear, so distinct, as if it had come from right beside me. I turned my wide-eyed gaze towards Ryan, who was unaware as he continued to undress in front of the mirror. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. "Did you hear that?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Ryan turned to look at me, a confused expression on his face. "Hear what?" he replied, furrowing his brows. My mind raced, unsure of how to respond. How could I explain that the voice I heard came from within me?
- But before I could gather my thoughts, my wolf spoke again, breaking the fragile silence. "He is cute right? I'm sure you like him." My eyes widened in shock as the words penetrated my consciousness. My wolf, the part of me that had always remained hidden, was now speaking to me directly, commenting on Ryan's attractiveness.
- Ryan looked at me, concern etched on his face, "Are you feeling alright?" he asked, stepping closer to me. Panic welled up inside me, knowing that I couldn't let him in on the secret of my wolf. I quickly composed myself and forced a smile, "I'm fine, just a little lost in thought," I replied, hoping he wouldn't press the matter further.
