- Larissa didn’t seem to happy with our request. Her eyes widened, and her mouth slightly hung open. “But, what if they find out what I am doing?’’
- Alaric met her gaze steadily, his expression calm but stern. “We can’t afford another attack, Larissa. If Craven’s forces strike again, it’ll be the end for all of us. You think it might be fun, having a taste of freedom from our regime, but...” He leaned forward, eyes sharp. “If we fall, nothing will stop creatures from tearing through this place. You’ll be left exposed, defenseless.”
- Larissa shifted uncomfortably, glancing around as if searching for a way out of this conversation. Finally, she sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. “Ok” she muttered. “I’ll try to find out who the spy is.”
