Chapter 30
- The tension inside my was unbearable. I paced back and forth in my room, my hands clenching into fists as I struggled to keep myself in check. ‘Why her?’ My mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, torn between the raw desire I felt for Lee-Anna and the cold armour I had built around my heart after Helena's death.
- My previous mate. Helena. She was everything a Luna was supposed to be. Loyal, obedient, gentle. She’d followed my every command without question, her love for me unwavering until the end. Her death had shattered me, leaving behind a bitterness that I never wanted to feel again. I had sworn to never take another mate, not because I didn’t want to love, but because I feared losing again. The pain of her loss had cut deep, and I’d buried it beneath layers of stone-cold control.
- But then, Lee-Anna came, everything about her was the opposite of Helena. She was defiant, stubborn, full of fire. And worst of all, she was human.
