- But the door slammed shut behind me, cutting off my view of the ballroom. They dragged me through dark hallways, my feet stumbling on the smooth floor. I tried to fight, to scream, but a sharp blow to the side of my head left me dazed.
- “You’ll regret this,” I managed to gasp out, my vision swimming.
