Chapter 10

• I woke slowly, having the best sleep I ever had in years, and as my senses gradually returned, I found myself in bed and under heavy blankets. It took me a while to remember, I tried to run away last night, and fell asleep in the master’s mansion, instead of the servant’s quarters.
• I blinked at the ceiling, as I laid there and tried to think back.
• I remembered Alaric just sitting on the bed, staring at me. I felt scared, than a sudden rush of peace came over me, the next thing I knew, my lids got heavy and for whatever reason, I thought it was death over taking me, instead of sleep.
