Chapter 25
- The next morning, as I sat around the dining table, I stared down at the food I had prepared, my appetite was hardly there because Alaric had ordered me not to work, but it was his warning that was stuck with me. He would break my hands if I dared to disobey his no more working rule, the terrifying promise was enough to keep me in line. So to avoid his wrath coming through, I decided to make breakfast still for the both of us, and tried to settle into this new routine.
- My mind raced as I thought about how my life had changed, I was a normal girl, and now here I am playing house with a man, whom I didn’t know how I feel about him.
- I tried to eat, trying to focus on something else, forcing a piece of toast in my mouth.
