Chapter 29
- I ran my hands through my hair, my body trembling. What was going on? My heart still pounded in my chest, but it wasn’t just because of the odd dream I just had. Something was different, my senses felt heightened. The room around me seemed more vivid, the colors brighter, the sounds sharper. I could hear every little creak of the mansion, the faint rustling of leaves outside, and even the distant murmur of voices from the other mansion.
- I walked over to the window, trying to focus on the outside world to calm myself down. But even the light from the moon seemed to glow more than usual, casting silver beams across the room. It felt like everything was pulling at me, as if the world itself was drawing me in with a new intensity.
- My fingers tingled as I gripped the window sill. "What is happening to me?" I muttered to myself, feeling a strange pull toward Alaric’s room, almost magnetic in its intensity. My heart fluttered just thinking about him, but it was more than that. It was like a force urging me to him, to be near him.
