Chapter 19

• As I gazed down at my sleeping beloved, I told myself that I would protect her with my life. I know that us coming from different worlds had created a barrier that might be hard to overcome, mostly because she wouldn’t be so accepting of this. But I wanted to be a source of support, comfort and love.
• I didn’t know how to bridge this gap; I had no idea what the likes and dislikes of a human were. Still… I promise not to let her suffer; I would make things better for my beloved.
• I left Lee-Anna to rest for the night, and went to my room. My mate… that word felt like a curse, and something I had spent years trying to forget, but couldn’t escape.
