- The scent of blood filled my senses as I stared at the spot where Leeanna had just stood moments ago, now empty. My heart pounded like a drum, each beat echoing the name of the woman who had just been snatched away. Roaring in fury, I stormed out of the mansion, my body ablaze with rage and desperation.
- I had failed to protect her, just as I had failed Helena all those years ago. "Not again," I growled, clenching my fists so hard I felt my nails dig into my palms. "How the fuck did they get in here?" I demanded, my voice sharp and cold as I scanned the grounds for answers.
- A guard approached, his face pale as he held out a small, empty bottle. I didn’t even need to bring it to my nose to recognize the scent, the foul stench of witchcraft. My lips curled into a snarl. "Those damned witches," I spat, grinding my teeth. "Always sticking their long noses where they don’t belong."
