Chapter 24

• I was still in the library, sitting on the edge of chair, closer to the fire now. Just staring blankly at it, finding little comfort in the flames, but it didn’t soothe my troubling thoughts. My mind was too much on what I had done, I wanted a sure explanation but couldn’t find one and that terrified me.
• I looked down at my still trembling hands, as I thought about the energy that had came from mr, I balled my fist, telling myself that it could never happen again, because it felt as if I didn’t have control over my body or mind. I had sensed another presence within me, something dark, animalistic.
• Then there was Alaric, he too was still in the library and could feel his gaze on me. He hadn’t said anything, just sat there staring, which was unnerving. Even though he wasn’t angry, or cast any judgement, his silence was unsettling.
