• Ace gripped the steering wheel tightly as he maneuvered his car through the dimly lit streets. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a pale glow on the empty road ahead. It had been a long day, and all he wanted was to reach the sanctuary of his home.
• Just as he turned onto a deserted stretch, his phone buzzed, startling him. Glancing at the screen, he saw Zara's name flashing ominously. Ace's heart sank. Zara, the captivating daughter of one of the Red Eyes packs, had been pursuing him relentlessly, despite his clear rejections. But Ace didn't know her real identity yet. He saw her to be a mere human. He had hoped that by keeping his distance, she would eventually get the message. But it seemed she had grown tired of his avoidance.
• Reluctantly, Ace answered the call, his voice laced with caution. "Zara, I've told you before. Stay away from me."
