• Adrian sat in his office, scrolling through some paperwork when he heard a knock on the door. He didn't bother to look up, assuming it was just one of his employees. But when the door creaked open, he felt his heart stop. It was Cynthia.
• She stood in front of him, looking just as beautiful as ever, but Adrian didn't feel the same warmth that he used to feel whenever he saw her. He looked unhappy, and his expression didn't seem to bother her at all.
• "What are you doing here?" he asked, his voice cold and distant.
