Chapter 50

• It was 1:00 AM, and Camila found herself at home, enveloped by an uneasy stillness. Her triplets, three adorable male babies, had finally succumbed to sleep, their gentle breaths filling the air. But her mind was restless, fixated on the absence of Adrian, her destined mate. He was supposed to have returned by now, yet there was no sign of him.
• With furrowed brows, Camila glanced at the clock on the wall, its ticking sound amplifying the weight of her growing concern. The minutes seemed to stretch into eternity, each passing second increasing her unease. She grasped her phone tightly as she dialed Adrian's number, hoping for a reassuring voice on the other end.
• But as the phone rang persistently, it became apparent that Adrian was not picking up. Panic began to set in, gnawing at her thoughts and quickening her heart rate. She tried again, and again, with mounting desperation, each unanswered call fueling her fears. The last time they both spoke, Adrian told her he was almost leaving the office. At least, he should be home by now.
