Chapter 12

• Camila felt a sudden emptiness taking over her. She lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to make sense of what had just happened. The words he had spoken echoed in her mind, and she couldn't shake them off.
• Camila glanced at the clock on her nightstand. It was just 2am. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep. She got up from the bed and walked over to the window, pulling the curtains aside. The city was quiet, and the only sound she could hear was the distant hum of traffic. She leaned against the window frame, letting the cool breeze wash over her face.
• Camila sighed and turned away from the window, walking back to the bed but she could at least try to sleep. She lay down and closed her eyes, hoping to drift off into a peaceful slumber.
