Chapter 70 Catching Damien

• “ Mr. Stark, you have mistakened Emelia.” Alger tries to stop Cody from smothering me.” Shut up!” Cody turns to Alger and growls. “ She is my slave, not yours. I can do whatever I want to do to her! Get out!” Alger stares at Cody, but he does not move. Maybe he knows that I will be smothered to death if he leaves.
• “Mr. Stark, Emelia is not the murderer. We have already caught the real murderer, Damien.” Cody looks up at Alger. “ She is the real murderer. I have seen it with my own eyes. I have told you before I fainted.” Alger gazes at Cody steadily. “ She was framed. Mr. Stark, can you please let her go first? I will tell you what the fact is.” Cody’s eyes turn between me and Alger several times. Finally, he lets me go. He half closes his eyes and buries most of his head into the pillow. “ Go ahead.”
• I cough hard to get more oxygen. I lie on the ground and put my hands on my breast to help myself breath and make myself comfortable. I tremble in fear. It has been a long time since I last smothered by Cody. The feeling of getting close to death is not good and every time I experience it, I remember it forever. But for the time being, I do not have time to hate Cody. I need to prove my innocence. I look up at Alger and beg him to save me and prove my innocence with eyes.
