Chapter 23 Cody's Parents

• Cody needs to have a rest and doctors are taking good care of him, so I do not need to worry about him. I pull Lily out of the room and ask, “ Lily, I do not understand. They are father and son, right?” Lily nods. “ Although Cody is not willing to admit it, but Kahn is Cody’s father. No one can doubt it.” I frown. “ Then why did the Alpha hurt Cody and his mother so badly? Did they do anything wrong?”
• Lily thinks for a while and finally decides to tell me. “ Since Cody was young, my father hurts Laura all the time. I do not know why my father hates Laura so much, but compared to Cody and other people, he hurts Laura the most.” I am surprised. “ Other people? In his eyes, I am no different from other maids in this palace.”
• I do not know what to say. I purse my lips. I feel sorry for Lily. In my eyes, Lily is kind and powerful in this palace. Although she is only a maid, even the future alpha respects her. I always admire her. I have never thought that she had such a miserable life. “ Lily, truthfully, I do not know what to say. If you need me, I will always be on your side. Today, I protect Laura because I am kind. In the future I will protect you just because you are my friend.” Lily smiles. I do not know whether she is moved or simply thinks that I am funny.
