Chapter 19 Meeting Another Slave

• Emelia ‘s POV
• Someone is knocking at the door. I look up and do not say anything. Some time later, the knocking begins again. I pout and say, “ Who is there?” The door opens. It is actually Cody. I am shocked. Since when does Cody knock at my door? He always rushes into my room or eavesdrops and snarls by the door.
• I answer yes and try my best to stand up in pain. I open the door politely and lower my head. I can feel Cody is intense gaze on me but I am too scared to look up. I can hear his footsteps walking towards me. Then I feel him sit on the bed behind me. I turn around and wait for him to snarl or hit me. But he says nothing. I hesitantly look up at him and see him staring off with a blank look on his face. His eyes are mixed with all kinds of emotions I can not describe As if he is thinking hard about something complex.
