Chapter 56 Escape

• “ Emelia, why are you crying?” The sudden voice surprises me. I shiver before I turn my head and see Cody stare at me doubtfully. I wipe my tears hurriedly before his thumbs gently crosses my face to wipe my tears instead of me. “ Do not be so rude. Your face is tender.” “Not as rude as what you did to it. You slapped me all the time before.” I do not say it out because I am drawn in the gentleness in Cody’s eyes.
• “ Emelia, are you crying because it is too painful?” I shake my head and lean my face against his palm. “ I am just a little homesick. I miss my parents...” I notice that the temperature of the room goes down and it feels freezing goes cold after I said those words. Cody takes away his hands which was under my face. He stands up and looks at me coldly.
• It is been a while since I last time saw him like this. After he applied the cream to me last time, he has always treated me gently. There is always love and warmth in his eyes when he looks at me, but now, he stares at me silently and there is only coldness and rage in his eyes. To tell the truth, I do not know why he is angry. But I remember every time I talk about my parents, although not many times, he always gets angry for no reason.
