Chapter 83 Reunion
- "Are you sure you're feeling better?" he asks me.
- For several minutes, he stayed with me, simply hugging me outside my mother's room. I felt like I was falling apart, that I was crumbling into pieces. It was one of the worst moments of my life. Worse than when my father left, worse than any day at school, worse than when I found out what my sister had done when I was a teenager, even worse than everything that had happened with him.
- For all of that, I had a solution, perhaps not the most appropriate... to distance myself, to run away, to pretend it wasn't important, to bury those feelings deep in my brain and my heart. But for this, I couldn't do anything, I was completely powerless to what was happening.
