Chapter 21 Care

• "Why don't you want me to carry you? Is it because you think I'll drop you?" he suddenly blurts out. We're moving so slowly that I feel like I'll reach my room tomorrow and we still have a long way to go. And he chooses to ask these kinds of questions when we're alone, with no chance of escape. Great, just great. What kind of question is this? It's absurd, a joke, or just plain embarrassing.
• "Brandon... what are you saying? No! I mean... no! It really has nothing to do with you," I explain, and God, I never dreamed of reaching a place so quickly, and yet I'm moving at the pace of an extremely slow turtle, even for its species. He doesn't stay silent, of course not. He's usually quiet, especially when he's talking to me, but now he seems more spontaneous than ever. Lucky me.
• "So... what is it then? Are you embarrassed to be seen with me... to have people think other things?" he asks, and now I'm truly stunned. I swear I have no idea what goes through this man's mind. I'm completely ignorant when it comes to what Brandon Clark is referring to.
