Chapter 146

• I have a burning hot shower and I have to say this is the most relaxed I have felt since before we separated. I feel like things are finally returning to normal. The hospital is finally dead quiet and still and our room is darkened and only dimly lit up by the side lamp. As I exit the bathroom Joshua’s eyes follow me through the room as I walk over to the bed slowly. He holds out his hand for me, alone at last.
• “I’ve been waiting for bed-time all day,” he whispers.
• I smile a shy smile. “Josh, we are in hospital. Nothing can happen, what if a nurse comes in?”
